Cerulean Blue, an iconic watercolor pigment, is renowned for its luminous hue and subtle opacity. Historically introduced in the mid-19th century as a synthetic pigment, it quickly captivated artists for its stability and its ability to capture the clarity of the sky. It boasts excellent lightfastness.

This light blue is perfect for painting skies, seas, and soft atmospheres. When mixed, it pairs beautifully with yellows such as Isaro yellow light, Saffron, or Yellow Ochre to create tender, textured greens. Combined with Isaro Rose, it produces delicate, granulating violets. When blended with earth tones like Raw Umber or Burnt Sienna, it creates greys ideal for atmospheric landscapes.
